Four flavonol glycosides and three flavonols were isolated from the pericarp of \%Sophora japonica \%L. and elucidated by chemical and spectral method as kaempferol 3\|O\|β\|rutinoside (Ⅰ), rutin (Ⅱ), kaempferol 3\|O\|β\|D\|glucoside (Ⅲ), quercetin 3\|O\|β\|D\|glucoside (Ⅳ), kaempferol (Ⅴ), quercetin (Ⅵ), isorhamnetin (Ⅶ). Among them, compounds Ⅰ, Ⅳ and Ⅶ are reported in this species for the first time.
AIM Isolation and structural elucidation of the constituents from seeds of Sophora japonica L. METHODS Solvent extraction and column chromatography were used. IR, MS, 1HNMR and 13 CNMR spectra were applied for structural elucidation. RESULTS Eight compounds were isolated and identified as genistein(1), sophoraricoside (2), sissotrin(3), sophorabioside(4), kaempferol-7-O-α-L-rhamnoside(5), rutin(6), isoscutellarein(7), and gallic acid(8). CONCLUSION Among them, compounds 3,5,7 and 8 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
