The author surveyed and discovered six Paleolithic localities and collected more than fiftyspecimens along the shores of the Danjingkou Reservoir. All the sites were open sites located onthe third terrace of laterite clay. This lithic assemblage, including cores, chopper and chop-ping tools ( pebble and flake tools) , points, and scrapere, were made from river peb-bles . The majority of the assemblage comprises of unifaces , and only a small number of them isbifaces.This assemblage is simple in type, crude in production, and primitive in retouch. Itbelongs to the pebble stone tool tradition of southem China.
