This article proposes a multistage soft decision equalization (SDE) technique for block transmission over frequency selective multi-input multi-output (MIMO) channels. Using the Toeplitz structure, the general signal model can be converted into a series of small-sized sub-signal models. For each sub-signal model, soft interference cancellation (SIC) is used firstly to remove partial effects of interfering symbols, then max-log-map sphere decoder is performed to get the desired a posteriori information. Simulation shows that with lower complexity the proposed method outperforms the probability data association SDE and the Schnorr-Euchner sphere decoder.
In this article, an adaptive radio resource "allocation algorithm applied to multiple traffic orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system is proposed, which distributes subcarriers and bits among users according to their different quality of service requirements and traffic type. By classifying and priorifizing the users based on their traffic characteristic and ensuring resource for higher priority users, the new scheme decreases tremendously the outage probability of the users requiring a real-time transmission without impact on the spectrum efficiency of system, as well as the outage probability of data users is not increased compared with the radio resource allocation methods published.
A novel topology scheme, cell with multiple mobile sinks method (CMMSM), is proposed in this article for the collection of information and for the environment monitoring in wireless sensor networks. The system consists of many static sensors, scattered in a large scale sensing field and multiple mobile sinks, cruising among the clusters. Conservation of energy and simplification of protocol are important design considerations in this scheme. The noninterference topology scheme largely simplifies the full-distributed communication protocol with the ability of collision avoidance and random routing. The total number of cluster heads in such a topology was analyzed, and then an approximate evaluation of the total energy consumption in one round was carded out. Simulation results show that CMMSM can save considerable energy and obtain higher throughput than low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) and geographical adaptive fidelity (GAF).
